This book is a MUST read for anyone who is LD/ADHD or knows someone struggling in school because they have it. As a mother of three, each with their own Specific Learning Difference, I have used this book like my Bible.
This book was one of the best books I have read.
I am 36 years old and have returned to college and for the first time in my life, I have done excellent in school. I feel I owe a large part of this to the two authors of this book.
I too have ADHD and am Dyslexic. My physician had recommended I read this book and in doing so I ended up highlighting a great deal of the book and go back to it often, especially when I want to quit and give up! I have a 3.72 GPA after having a 2.9 from 20 years ago. It has taken nearly 3 years to bring my gpa back up but I have done so getting a 4.0 every semester except the first semester when I returned to college the Fall semester 2004.
Anyone who has trouble learning in any way should read this book and go back to it and refer to it often! It has helped save my life in more ways than I can say in this comment box!
Thanks so much, Jonathan and David

Susan, thanks for sharing your thoughts here. Feel free to come back any time you have a question or something to share about your college experience. Thanks.
I am a senior in high school, about to go into college. I to have LD/ADHD along with a graphamotor disorder. Writing has always been hard for me but this book really helped me. To be honest, it was not the tips and suggestions as it was reading their stories. Seeing how they learned to deal with it. That is what inspired me to do a similar project for my senior paper. I wrote my story to share with my peers. From a troubled youth having a hard time just staying in school to what I am now; graduating with honors and will be attending Case Western Reserve University, one of the most competitive schools in the country, in the fall. I recommend this book to any student with a learning difference, especially those in high school.
Christine, Thanks for your post on this book. It seems that personal stories have helped many people over the years, it’s always good to know that you’re not alone when you’re going through a hard time.
In my day it was a book called “Reversals” by Eileen Simpson and there have been many others since. I’m glad this book helped you.
