I am so glad to see that College Internship Program (CIP) finally made it onto LD Resources website. It is a unique program, one of only a handful in this country that work exclusively with young adults who have severe LD challenges yet want, and are capable of doing, college level work. It is different from LD colleges like Landmark or Mitchell in that the students live in CIP supervised apartments and, in addition to taking community college courses, the students also work with the professionals at CIP. CIP is a very well run program with a terrific track record. The current Director, Michael McManmon, has been there for over twenty years. I have visited CIP in Lee, MA on numerous occasions and placed a young man there recently who is doing well. I don’t know much about the other locations, but assume they are similar to Lee. I am happy to post more specific info on the Lee program should anyone out there be interested.
I would like to hear more specific information on CIP. Have viewed the website, it looks fantastic. Is there supervision 24/7? Profile of students? Anything else you could provide.
Thank you!
Hi Stephanie,
CIP does have 24/7 on-call staffing. 2 live-in staff do nightly checkins and are available for emergencies.

Emotional, behavioral, and psychological stability. High level of motivation to meet program goals. Potential to live and attend college or vocational program independently. Ages typically 18 to 25 years old.
