Artistic tendencies linked to ‘schizophrenia gene’
…the mutation dampens a brain region that reins in mood and behaviour, called the prefrontal cortex. This change could unleash creative potential in some people and psychotic delusions in others.
This is fascinating and an early piece of a larger understanding of both mental illness and creative thought and I predict that in the echo chamber that is the internet it will be reduced and distorted down to a sound bite (or byte).
