My kids use them too. They are fun and addictive (in a good way). Highly recommended. Our favorite is New York Minute, but they are all good.
Looks cool, fun and worth trying.
Thanks for passing along.
I am a speech-language pathologist who is involved in literacy instruction. These cards are very useful for teaching the foundational skills of reading and spelling, as well as for practicing higher level reading skills. They are well made and sturdy, and worth the money. Children never tire of the games, and always look forward to playing with them. They are good for general classrooms, resource rooms, one-on-one instruction, special education, home schooling and just good fun at home! I recommend them without qualification.
I highly recommend these games. I’ve been teaching reading almost 30 years and spent countless hours making my own games to reinforce skills and make the learning process more fun. These games do the job for me! While the students think they’re just playing games, they’re learning discrete skills and the games can be referenced as reminders when students are engaged in reading. These commercially-produced cards look “official” to students and are more durable than the homemade versions. Rules are simple and games could be used easily in a classroom Strictly a win-win scenario for everyone.
I love these card games! I have been using them for a few years now and it is almost time to replace a few decks, as they have seen such frequent use by my students! As a reading teacher who works daily with 1st through 3rd graders, I am able to use these games to both teach and reinforce skills in one-on-one or small group settings. The best part is that the kids love them and ask to play all the time. A great way to “sneak in” the learning! Highly recommended!
