Given that this article looks at the performance of low income students, I’m sure this is a multi-faceted issue, but it seems to be more evidence that teachers need more and different training in the science of reading instruction.

  1. Okay. So, im taking a vocal tech class for school and they are gonna teach us how to read music and i wanna learn how to play guitar this year so….how hard would it be to learn how to play if i know how to read music?

    It will be a lot easier knowing how to read music. However, if you have no “ear” for music, it’ll take longer.

    Not sure what that has to do with this article though.
